From Rooftop Fall to Kangaroo Bounds: Able the Cat’s Inspiring Transformation

Meet Able, a remarkable rescue cat who has overcome significant challenges and now hops around energetically like a kangaroo.

“The first time I saw Able, I felt such energy and inspiration to live my life,” said Walai Sriboonvorakul in an interview with Coconuts Bangkok. At just one year old, Able suffered a tragic accident.

While attempting to catch a bird from a rooftop, he fell onto a loose electrical wire, resulting in severe injuries. The incident cost him his tail and front legs, nearly taking his life.

Fortunately, Sriboonvorakul intervened, preventing him from enduring a harsh street life in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand.

Thanks to Sriboonvorakul’s dedicated care, Able has made an impressive recovery over the past two years. “We named him ‘Able’ because he can do everything like other animals,” she explained.

Despite his physical limitations, Able can climb stairs, chase fellow felines, and leap to surprising heights. In fact, he shares his home with a sibling named Fin Fin, a cat with opposite mobility challenges, as she cannot use her hind legs.

The pair, who rely on one another for companionship, have forged an unbreakable bond.
