Last summer in a quiet corner of Newfoundland and Labrador, a tiny calico kitten was found wandering alone, her mother nowhere in sight. Rescued by kind-hearted strangers, the brave kitten—later named Pocket—quickly charmed everyone with her fierce personality and big blue eyes. Despite her small size, she had a huge need for affection and attention. The Exploits Valley SPCA stepped in, and though they hoped to place her with a nursing cat, Pocket wasn’t accepted by any surrogates. So, they turned to the community in hopes of finding a perfect forever home for this cuddle-loving fluffball.

Enter Keesha Hicks and her little dog Lexi. The moment Keesha saw Pocket, she felt a spark. Pocket—who would soon be renamed Remi—seemed to know she’d found her people the instant she snuggled into Keesha’s arms. But it was Lexi, the household pup, that Remi was truly determined to win over. From day one, Remi shadowed Lexi, tried to cuddle her at every chance, and even treated the dog like a stand-in mother. Though Lexi was initially unsure about the persistent ball of fur invading her space, Remi’s unshakable devotion slowly melted her resistance.

Today, Remi and Lexi are the very definition of best friends. Whether it’s wrestling sessions, lounging on the couch, or watching hockey together, they’re inseparable. Remi has grown into a confident cat with a striking amber gaze, a majestic fluffy tail, and just as much sass as ever. She keeps Lexi entertained and on her toes, and their friendship is full of warmth, laughter, and mutual adoration. From a lonely street in Gaultois to the heart of a loving home, Remi’s journey proves that sometimes, family finds you in the most unexpected ways.

It is so heartwarming to hear such a beautiful and happy story! Remi has grown into a beautiful cat with a wonderful friend Lexi, Buds for life!! ❤️
